A visit to Mallard Island Yacht Club

Photo from Mallard Island website

Long Beach Island is full of beauty and one of the most popular Jersey Shore vacation spots for families. It is no surprise that it also makes a lovely spot for a wedding!

We are working with a couple who is getting married at Mallard Island Yacht Club in April, so we wanted to not only tour Mallard, but the other two Weddings of Distinctions properties in LBI as well.

So, this week we’ll profile each of the three venues, beginning today with Mallard Island!

Mallard Island Yacht Club, 1450 E Bay Ave, Manahawkin, NJ 08050

Quick Facts:

  • You can rent the whole property for overnight in addition to the wedding

  • Reception seating: 250 guests

  • 10 suites for overnight stays. Each varies in size and style.

  • Renting the entire estate will run you $16-25k depending on the day/season

  • This does NOT include the catering costs

Things we love:

  • The bridal suite!!!! You need to see it for yourself, but the whole top floor is the bridal suite. This is a dream place for getting ready with your girlfriends and the definition of being a princess for a day.

  • Don’t worry, the men have their own “groom shack” as well- it’s like a nautical retreat, with a TV!

  • You can bring your own flags to hang on their flagpole- perfect for a personal touch whether it be a monogram with your initials, your college flags or your hubby to be’s favorite sports team.

  • The turquoise ceilings in the ballroom add such a unique, beachy touch.

  • Bring your boat! You can dock a boat right at the estate.

  • The bouquet toss can be done from one of the suites. We think this just adds an extra element of fun to it!

  • If you are renting out the whole estate, you are welcome to have your guests stay after the reception for an after party. Taste Catering even provides an after party food menu as an option and you can bring your own alcohol.

  • The cake comes from the Cake Boss!
