A visit to the new Asbury Hotel

Recently we got the opportunity to visit The Asbury Hotel, a brand new boutique hotel located near the beach in Asbury Park, NJ. We were so excited to finally see not only the wedding space but also the hotel and it definitely exceeded our expectations!
The hotel has a very modern vibe and its ballroom matches that look and feel. Your guests will be greeted with valet service and their own entrance. If you choose to have your ceremony at the venue, we’d recommend using their outdoor, turf rooftop area which offers unbeatable views of the historic Asbury buildings as well as the Ocean. It’s a very spacious area, which the hotel actually uses for rooftop movies during the week.

After the ceremony your guests can head to cocktail hour, with a variety of options here as well. There the Salvation Rooftop space that can be used for cocktail hour during off peak times. This space would be our recommendation for cocktails so that your guests can continue to enjoy the views. Another option is to take cocktail hour indoors by going back to the first floor where the hotel offers a pre-function space, which is white, sleek and modern. The blank white space really allows couples to keep it simple and classy or dress it up to their personal taste.

Heading into the ballroom, guests will find themselves in a very modern and industrial looking room adorned with garage doors that open to an outdoor area. The space is a blank canvas and since couples will bring in their own tables, chairs, etc, they can really design the space as they’d like. Combined, the indoor and outdoor area can seat about 300 people. The outdoor courtyard is adorable, private and really adds a backyard feel. Couples also have the ability to tent that area, if desired.

The best thing about having your event at a hotel is that your guests can head to their rooms after or directly to the after party. The Asbury Hotel as the perfect spot for this in their beer garden. With a food truck and beer truck on premise, it’s the perfect spot to bring your guests for some post-reception drinks.
During the evening we tasted delicious food from Marilyn Schlossbach Catering, one of the preferred caterers for the venue. The food was creative, fresh and delicious and we’d definitely recommend taking a look at their menus for wedding at The Asbury or elsewhere.

Our final stop on the tour were some of the hotel rooms themselves. They were minimalist, clean and modern with stunning views. What we really liked was the bunk rooms, which had a few bunk beds throughout to create a hostel style room. This would help your guests save money and is a unique option whether traveling with kids or just looking to have a room with a bunch of friends.
Overall, we really enjoyed our time at The Asbury Hotel and we can’t wait to work there!
