Krissa & Bill's Sandy Hook Wedding

Photos by Idalia Photography

It was a picture perfect day at Sandy Hook on August 12th for Krissa and Bill’s wedding. Every time Krissa and Bill visited Sandy Hook leading up to their wedding it was raining, but not on their big day!

Having an event at Sandy Hook is unique, as the weddings are held on a large, open field that overlooks the Sandy Hook Bay. It is a gorgeous setting and since it is such a raw space, couples bring in everything and can really make it their own. This may sound like a challenge but Krissa and Bill took it in stride and created a beautiful space for their big day. Most of their rentals came from Ocean Tents which included a sail tent, tables, chairs, benches for the ceremony and of course a dance floor. We spent the day before the wedding with them while the rentals were dropped off and the tent went up. A beautiful sweetheart farm table and rustic ceremony arch was rented from Rustic Drift to bring their vision together.

Krissa had a specific vision for her big day and went with a seaglass color pallet throughout the space, adding lots of details to make the space unique to her and Bill. She ordered bunting to match her color scheme that hung from the tall tented ceiling along with Edison lights that shined bright as soon as the sun set. The bride also collected bottles throughout the months leading up to her big day and Flowers by Melinda filled them with the most beautiful soft colored flowers that were the centerpiece of each table along with framed postcard love notes.

Krissa and Bill exchanged vows with a beautiful backdrop and then moved onto cocktail hour. The couple’s cocktails were served from Cocktail Caravan, an actual caravan that pull right up on site to be the bar for the night. Guests enjoyed delicious appetizers and small plates from D’Jeet, the caterer for the night.

When the reception began the party didn’t stop under the tent. The guests danced all night to the sounds of Silver Arrow Band while the photographers of Idalia Photography caught every moment including the perfect sunset. The couple cut the cake, created by the Vintage Cake, that was covered in sea glass and fit theme of the entire event.

Before it was time to go home guests enjoyed pork roll sandwiches from Jonny’s Pork Roll Truck who pulled up next to the tent ready to serve! It was a night to remember and we are so happy to have been able to spend it at Sandy Hook with such an amazing couple! Congrats Krissa and Bill!
