With resources like Pinterest , Etsy and The Knot, it is understandable why couples now a days often start the wedding planning process thinking that they don’t need the help of a wedding planner. What is a wedding planner really going to do that they can’t handle themselves?

As wedding planners, we’re obviously a little bias about the need for a planner, but we love our job and helping our clients, so today we’re going to take you through the top 10 things we do for our couples that makes them very happy that they hired a planner.

Keep you organized & on track

As planners, the number one thing we bring to the table is organization. There are a lot of moving parts for a wedding and we can help you prioritize and delegate tasks.

Pointers that you may not have thought of

Even though you’ve probably attended a lot of weddings, there are things that as a guest you don’t pick up on but as a planner, we do. There are a lot of tricks and tips we’ve learned to make your lives easier during the planning and to help ensure that you and your guests have the best day ever on your big day.

Be the voice of reason/a sounding board

There are going to be times where you get frustrated. We’re here to listen and help you problem solve. We love talking through ideas with our couples and figuring out solutions. Even if you just need to vent, we’re listening!

We’ll save you time

It may not feel like it at first, when your wedding is still over a year away, but wedding planning takes up a lot of time! When you are working a full time job, it’s very difficult to find time for planning and still enjoy the process. Trust us, you want to enjoy your engagement period and not find yourself saying you can’t wait until the wedding is over. There are a lot of calls and emails to take care of especially during the last few months and we’ve got you covered.

have to worry about it! As wedding planners we take care of small issues or big ones so that you don’t have to. Not enough chairs at the ceremony? We’ll get more. Someone forgot their shoes? We’ll get another pair. We take the stress level out of your best day ever.

Be the bad guy so that you don’t have to

There is likely going to be a time during your planning process where one of your vendors isn’t getting you what you need. Or maybe they are just being a little difficult. It’s really nice to have the option to step to the side and let your wedding planner chime in. Often we have relationships with the vendors that you are working with and if not, we are fine with being firm and direct without feeling bad because it’s a part of the job!

Keep everyone in line on your wedding day

On the day of your wedding, things need to get done and they need to get done on time. As the planner, we are happy to be the loud, authoritative voice that does things like round up your wedding party or family for photos or start calling vendors if they are running late. We are there to make sure you, your wedding party, family and your vendors are where they should be at the time they should be there.

On your big day, we’ll make sure your vision is coming to life so that you don’t have to

You, your parents and your wedding party shouldn’t have to be the ones setting up your décor on the day of your wedding or worrying about whether or not it’s all going in the correct spot. We will be there to set-up and assist your vendors to ensure that everything is coming together just like you envisioned.

We are your very own Personal Assistant on your Big Day!

On your wedding day we’ll make sure you, your parents, your wedding party and even your guests are taken care of. If you forgot something up in your hotel room, we’ll run and get it! If you need a drink refill, we’ll be there before you even ask. If you really need a mid-day coffee while you are getting ready, we’ll run out for you. Whether you feel you need a planner beginning a year out from your wedding or a month out, we’re ready to jump in with extra hands at anytime. Some couples only need Day of Coordination, while others need help with months of planning. You’re planning can never be too much or too little for us!
