Our Favorite "Hidden" Venues

The Mill Lakeside Manor

Over the past few years we’ve worked at some amazing venues. Today we wanted to share some of our favorite venues that you may not know much about, since before we worked at them, we didn’t know much about them either! We found each of these venues to be really special, so today we’ll share the details about why we think these venues are such hidden gems.

The English Manor- Ocean, NJ

We just did our first wedding here about a month ago and when we went for the site visit it was like we were driving in a residential neighborhood and then suddenly, there was the venue! The facade looks like a small house but once inside everything opens up. A small sitting room with a fireplace serves as a great lounge area for your guests. The newly renovated ballroom has some gorgeous chandeliers and its neutral tones make it easy to bring in any color pallet. The real wow factor of the venue comes when you step outside into the garden where they hold ceremonies and cocktail hour. The patios, gazebo, flowers, stream and waterfall are charming and full of beauty. OH and to top things off, the food and staff were amazing!!!!

Ocean Place- Long Branch, NJ

Ok, so maybe you’ve heard of Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch before, but did you know that you can not only have a beach ceremony but also a beach reception?! We got to be part of our first beach reception last year and loved it! Sperry Tents provided a beautiful tent and guests got to have their feet in the sand all evening. Once the sun set, guests also got to enjoy a bonfire with smores. It was such a beautiful atmosphere for a wedding!

The Mill Lakeside Manor- Spring Lake, NJ

It has been about a year and a half since the Clark’s Landing team took over The Mill. They made a lot of renovations that are worth checking out. This is another venue that is somewhat hidden, but has a beautiful landscape around it- swans and all! The staff here is very professional and attentive. The food is delicious and cocktail hour features an open kitchen station with so many fun options. They offer seconds during dinner to everyone in case a guest would like to try one of the other dishes being offered. Then, there was the ice cream bar!!! We’ll leave it at that!

Sandy Hook- Highlands, NJ

Sandy Hook has a wedding chapel that is about 4 miles in from the park’s entrance. Next to the chapel is some open land that overlooks the water and this is where you will find the blank canvas of possibilities! For a wedding here you’ll need to rent everything- tent, tables, linens, bring in a caterer, etc. but with a very low venue rental fee and that view, it feels worth it to us!

The Channel Club- Monmouth Beach, NJ

We went on a site visit here over the winter and though we’ve driven through Monmouth Beach and eaten at The Kitchen Witch countless times, we had no idea that The Channel Club was nestled back there by the marina. There is a ceremony space onsite that looks out onto the marina and plenty of windows for that perfect view of the sunset during the reception. The blue and white tones make it perfect for a reception near the shore!
