Kat & RJ's Wedding, The Mill Lakeside Manor, NJ

Kat and RJ got married at The Mill Lakeside Manor in Spring Lake, NJ on Saturday, May 22nd. The day began at Kat's parents house in Little Silver. It was such a beautiful location with views of The Shrewsbury River. Kat told me they were able to watch the sun rise to start the morning while the Make Me Up Eva team and Evolution Salon worked with them to create their stunning wedding day looks.

Kat & RJ decided to do their first look at the Little Silver house too. It was such a special spot- Kat's dress was even hanging in her old bedroom. Amy Rizzuto Photography beautifully captured the whole day and I have to say she was super brave with some of her photo locations (think marsh and sitting on docks) and it sure paid off because the shots are gorgeous! Before heading out for church, the whole wedding party was able to enjoy some lunch, drinks and air conditioning (it was a humid one!!).

The church ceremony took place at First Presbyterian Church in Manasquan. The alter was adorned with flowers from Darryn Murphy Designs, who also did the women's lovely bouquets. The ceremony was beautifully done and finished with a grand exit including flower petals. Michael Simmons Video was alongside the group throughout the day to capture all of the special moments- we can't wait to see the end product!!

After church the group took some photos and then headed over to The Mill for some more photos and a well deserved break in the AC. Did we mention how beautiful The Mill is looking these days!? This was our first time back there since 2017 and we were really into the new renovations- the place looks great!

Cocktail hour kicked off with members of Clara Jordan Band playing The Mill's piano while the saxophone player was by his side. It was an hour and a half cocktail hour which had both inside and outside components and some delicious food options.

Next, guests made their way upstairs to the ballroom for some dancing and dinner. Clara Jordan Band, from Hank Lane, kept the group on their feet as everyone was happy to have dance floors back in action. Kat's dad, her sisters and RJ's brother all made touching speeches and the evening wouldn't have been complete without RJ getting "iced".

Kat & RJ are such a kind, appreciative couple that I shared so many laughs with during the planning process. There were a lot of times where we questioned what they would be able to do with their wedding due to Covid restrictions but things seemed to ease up just in time for them to have the exact day that they hoped for. Working with them was so much fun- it really didn't feel like work! We are also so thankful for the amazing vendor team that they chose- it was such a talented group of people and we feel honored to have gotten to work with them! Thank you to the vendor team for helping to make this day so special for Kat & RJ. Congratulations Kat & RJ- thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding! We can't wait to see them again in the fall when we will be working on Kat's sister, Kristen's wedding :-)
