Engagement Photo Locations

With all of the recent proposals and the spring weather approaching (soon, right?!) it’s a great time to start thinking about engagement photos! We found these hidden gems through one of our favorite local photographers- the photography team behind the cameras of Idalia Photography. Alex, the owner, started her company with the idea that “classic” never goes out of style. She and her team capture each photo with a timeless and romantic approach. They are located in Central, NJ and specialize in wedding photos as well as newborn photography.

Each picture throughout this post is one of their fabulous shots from the locations listed below, which we hope sparks an idea for a future proposal location or engagement photo shoot! If you are interested in getting booking information from Alex, you can email them HERE!

Laurita Winery

Laurita Winery is a beautiful location that can be host to fun wine festivals, weddings, dinners and of course your engagement photo shoot. Located in New Egypt, New Jersey the winery has gorgeous greenery and rustic charm that would be the perfect backdrop for a couple in love.

Princeton

One of our favorite places not only for weddings but also to visit! There are so many locations to get the perfect shot in Princeton, NJ. Our favorite time of year is fall where the leaves are the perfect color and the weather is still mild enough to just wear a comfy sweater. Some great places to visit are the Princeton University campus, downtown Princeton, Triumph Brewery and the Princeton Battlefield State Park! Visit any time of year and you won’t be disappointed.

Sandy Hook

This is one of our favorites too because there are endless possibilities here! Sandy Hook is full of unique locations that include sandy beaches, views of the Navesink River and historic sites such as the Sandy Hook lighthouse. Alex particularly loves this location in the afternoon or evening when the sun is setting over the bay.

Spring Lake

A wonderful town in Monmouth County sometimes referred to as the “Jewel of the Jersey Shore.” The family friendly community is home to beautiful beaches and the downtown area has a tree-lined walk to the boardwalk and quaint B&Bs. Photo ops are everywhere including the beautiful park that many couples find themselves strolling through during all seasons!

Hoboken

Located on the Hudson River, it was a former industrial port and now features a park that overlooks the NYC skyline. You can get some great shots of NYC in the backdrop without actually being in the chaos of the city. Only covering about 1 square mile of land it makes it easy to see all Hoboken has to offer. A great place for photos, proposals or even a night out to celebrate!
